Arizona Golden Retriever Connection
Golden Retrievers are among the five most popular dog breeds in the US today. Like many dogs, Goldens all too often find themselves homeless for a variety of reasons. That's where we come in. We are committed to the rescue, fostering and placement of Golden Retrievers throughout Arizona in loving, forever homes. The Goldens we rescue are all taken to one of our veterinary partners for a complete checkup. Each dog is vaccinated, micro-chipped and spayed or neutered before we place them with adoptive families. We believe in responsible pet ownership and we practice what we preach.
In order to ensure that we find Forever Homes for our rescued Goldens, not temporary places of residence, we adhere to a rigorous screening process. This ensures that we do not move dogs from home to home. http://www.azgrc.org/index.html

MinPinHaven Rescue
MinPinHaven Rescue, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) no kill rescue group located in the Phoenix area. We are an all volunteer rescue group dedicated to caring for miniature pinschers and other small breed dogs who find themselves searching for new forever families due to abandonment, escapees from their safe yards or other life threatening events. The MinPinHaven residents stay in foster homes until either their forever home is found or they go to Rainbow Bridge due to serious illnesses. One of the requirements of the adoption process is a home visit and meeting the entire new adoptive family. Since we can’t travel to the rest of the US to do home visits, our dogs are adopted only in Arizona – we do not ship dogs to their new homes. http://minpinhaven.com/
Dachshunds Only Rescue
Dachshunds Only Rescue is a not-for-profit, volunteer organization located in Phoenix, AZ. Dogs that come into rescue are placed into a temporary foster home thanks to our network of generous volunteers. While in foster care, each dog is observed and evaluated to develop a profile of the dog. Once that has been established, a suitable, loving, forever home can be found, regardless of the time it takes.
Since our rescued dachshunds are fostered with families anywhere in the valley, we are very considerate as to the schedules and life styles of our foster families. Therefore, a volunteer will bring the dog to the home of the prospective adopter and by appointment only. It is important that all household members, including any other pets, be home for the initial meeting (as well as any subsequent meetings) since we believe that such decisions should be unanimous within the family.
Dachshunds Only Rescue is a never-kill shelter. What is the difference between a no-kill shelter and a never-kill shelter? A no-kill shelter is an animal shelter where animals are euthanized if they are too sick to be treated or too aggressive to be suitable for adoption. We do not believe that behavioral issues should lead to the dog's death. We use behavioral modification techniques and positive reinforcement to eliminate aggressive or unwanted behavior. We never kill any dog that comes into our care. Additionally, we provide the dog with any and all medical treatment required to make the dog well.
There is a "right" home for every dachshund but not necessarily a "right" dachshund for every home. We want every single adoption to be a successful one and as such, we make every effort to ensure the home the doxie is placed in is right for both the dog and new family. Dachshunds Only Rescue is a never kill organization. http://www.dachshundsonlyrescue.com/

Great Dane Rescue Inc.
Great Dane Rescue, Inc. is dedicated to the placement of relinquished Great Danes into loving, safe and permanent homes.
We place all Danes brought into our rescue program into foster homes where they are brought up to date on all their medical care, including neutering.
The dogs are kept for at least 10 days, allowing time for temperament testing and general health evaluation.
Upon adoption, a contract is signed stating that the new owners agree that the Dane will be kept indoors as a house-pet and that we will be contacted if the adoption does not work out. The contract also allows for us to inspect the living conditions of the dog at any time and if not satisfactory, take the dog back into Rescue.
In addition to placements and referrals, we also offer information on the Great Dane and provide guidance and counseling on care and training. The representatives serving Great Dane Rescue have been involved with the breed for many years and their combined experience includes breeding and showing, obedience training and of course, rescue work.
We are happy to answer any questions and want potential adopters to know all they can about the Great Dane. Great Danes make wonderful companions; they are very people oriented and need to be part of a loving family.
We feel that dog ownership is a responsibility that is ongoing for the life of the dog and encourage people to do research before they commit themselves to a breed as large as the Great Dane.
Great Dane Rescue is funded by donations, adoption fees and fund-raising. 100% of the fees go directly to our Rescue Fund. http://www.greatdanerescueinc.com/index.html

Ruff Road Rescue - 4 Adoptions!
Welcome to Ruff Road Rescue in Mesa, Arizona. We are a new dog rescue specializing in American Pit Bull Terriers, Staffordshire Terriers, Boxers, Mastiffs, and all types of Bulldogs. We are devoted to rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming these dogs in the Phoenix area, educating the public on responsible pet ownership, and advocating against the inhumane activity of dogfighting and the unethical practice of backyard breeding.
Sadly, we are unable to take in dogs that have severe human aggression. We do a thorough evaluation to determine if the dog is adoptable or able to take into our rescue. We will take dogs in on a case by case basis. We cannot save them all, although we would love to. We are currently set up to take in large breed dogs and puppies, but we occasionally take in small breed dogs.
Although we are not a non-profit organization quite yet, we are in the process of becoming one in the year to follow. http://www.ruffroadrescue.com/Home.html

Any Rat Rescue
Any Rat Rescue is dedicated to the memory of Gus and Walter, the first rescue rats of original rescue director Therese Hitesman, who now lives in Washington state. Someone had set two male rats free in a Glendale, Arizona park and Therese knew they would not have the instincts needed to survive. She persisted through several monsoon showers, ultimately capturing the boys and moving them safely to her home.
A group of local pet rat owners had met through an online forum for rat owners and, at Therese's urging, ultimately decided to formalize efforts to find homes for unwanted pet rats. The group of friends joined together to form Any Rat Rescue in the spring of 2004.
Any Rat Rescue (ARR) operates as a network of foster homes throughout the Valley. ARR is incorporated in the State of Arizona and is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The rescue, which is dedicated to finding loving, forever homes for any rat in need, now facilitates adoptions for more than 150 pet rats per year. http://anyratrescue.org/index.php

Niki's Pals 4 Paws, Inc.
The idea of Niki's Pals 4 Paws came from Beth Snook – President & Founder. She used to volunteered at the Kingman prison where they taught inmates "handlers" to train the dogs over an eight weeks period. The dogs spend all day with a handler & a secondary handler learning basic commands, socializing with other dogs and inmates. At the end of the 8 week time there was a graduation ceremony that is open to the public. That ceremony allowed the public and prospective adopters to see firsthand the obedience lessons learned by the animals, as well as some special tricks the more advanced handlers develop with the dogs. This was a great program for the dogs and inmates. The only fallback that she saw was if the dogs were not adopted right away they went back to a kennel and it could be very traumatizing on the dog. This is where Niki’s Pals 4 Paws came up with the idea of fostering dogs instead of being in a kennel or run all day. Dogs require human care and contact, love and interaction.
That is why we feel Fostering is so much more than just a place to stay until they find their “Forever Homes”. It’s a place they are loved and cared for, trained and socialized in a way, most of our dogs never knew. The transition is much easier on the dog and the new adopter when going to their forever home.
The purpose of our organization is the prevention of cruelty to animals by: Rescuing animals from life threatening situations at animal shelters and elsewhere.
To find permanent loving homes with qualified owners for rescued dogs.
Assisting owners of dogs who can no longer keep them, to help find them new homes.
To work actively with animal shelters and other rescue organizations in the community towards our common goals of saving dogs' lives and reducing the pet over population by spay and neutering.
By educating the public about the advantages of rescuing a dog from shelters and rescue organizations, the need of spay and neutering dogs.
Educating owners and providing information on proper care and training. http://nikispals4paws.org/

Toy Fox Terrier Rescue Inc.
Toy Fox Terrier Rescue began as a rescue committee of the American Toy Fox Terrier Club, and over their initial ten years, would take in/adopt @4-5 TFT's per year. ATFTC recommended we separate, due to any potential liability involved in rescue, and we incorporated as a not-for-profit in 2009. We remain a small rescue comprised of volunteers in over twenty states, finding homes in all states and the Cayman Islands for @50 dogs each year. We have formed relationships with shelters in all states, to be notified if a possible TFT is deteriorating or is in danger. The aging population with the economy has seen an incredible increase in dogs without homes, and an increase in owner surrenders. http://www.adoptapet.com/adoption_rescue/81728.html
